A School Direct Recruitment Event was held on Thursday 2nd November 2017 with presenters from North Shropshire Teaching Alliance and and Salop Teaching School Alliance who spoke to delegates about provider information, the application process and the roles of both alliances followed by a question and answer session. The event proved extremely successful drawing an audience of prospective secondary and primary teachers.

School Direct is a great new way to gain the skills you need to become a teacher. This school-led path involves some of the country’s best schools, and you could be selected by the alliance partnership and be eligible for bursaries.

If you would like to have some experience in a school before embarking on becoming a teacher The Priory School is an approved School Experience Programme (SEP) school. This means we are able to offer people interested in becoming a teacher the opportunity to spend some time in school. This could be observing to see whether you feel a teaching career is for you or to gain experience in preparation for applying to become a teacher on our School Direct Programme.
The School Direct Subject areas we can provide experience in are:
Art and Design, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Design and Technology, English, Geography, History, Maths. Modern Foreign Languages, Physics and Religious Education.
How to join
You will need to register with the School Experience website before you can participate in the SEP http://www.education.gov.uk/get-into-teaching/school-experience/sep go to How to Join section and click on register your details.
Once you have registered you will receive an email with a registration number indicating what you need to do next. Alternatively you can contact the Teaching Line on 0800 389 2500 for more information.
